Question:
What type receiver hitch would you recommend to go on the back of a fifth wheel?

Expert Reply:
We have a nice selection of trailer hitches that are designed to be installed on RVs and fifth wheel trailers.
If you are just wanting a hitch receiver to use with hitch-mounted accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, I recommend looking at the Ultra-Fab 2 Inch Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver # UF35-946402. This will clamp around 4 inch x 4 inch square bumpers to provide a 2 inch receiver opening with a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. For 4-1/2 inch x 4 inch bumpers, you can instead use # 337RVA24.
For more heavy duty applications, I recommend looking at the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13703. This is a frame mount trailer hitch that can adjust to fit trailer frame widths between 22 and 72 inches. It provides a 2 inch receiver opening with a maximum tongue weight of 350 pounds and a gross trailer weight of 3,500 pounds. Curt does state that all non-trailer loads such as bike racks and cargo carriers should be supported with stabilizing straps like # 18050.
I have included video demonstrations on both of these products as well as a link that will take you to our RV rated trailer hitches for you to look through.
