Recommendations For Dolly Towing A 2002 Chevy Tracker ZR2 4X4

Updated 06/11/2017 | Published 06/08/2017

Question:

can I tow this car on a tow dolly? We are renting an RV and do not want to go through the process of installing a full system to tow 4 down, yet want to avoid a full trailer if possible. Thank you for your help

You can tow your 2002 Chevy Tracker ZR2 4x4 with a tow dolly. I recommend the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes - 4,250 lbs # RM-2050-1. You will need to tow the vehicle from the rear wheels and make sure your ignition key is in the on position, your transmission is in park with the parking brake on, and the transfer case is in neutral. Make sure the 4WD light on your dash is turned off. Leave the key in that ACC position to keep the steering wheel unlocked. Make sure the front wheels are facing straight forward and secure the steering wheel with a clamping device designed for towing like # WICL303RED.

If you use a dolly without lights clearly visible, I recommend using the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, 20 ft. Long Cord # RM-2120.
