Updated 05/31/2017 | Published 05/29/2017

Question:

Looking to replace my single fold down step on my 89 Allegro with a double. However, the existing mounting bolts seems to be 19inch on center width and Im struggling to find replacement steps to fit. Can you help?

We offer many types and sizes of RV pull-out steps. Most of the OEM steps installed by RV makers are standard off-the-shelf items that are easily replaced but given the RV's age you may need to select an alternate step and drill some new mounting holes. The linked page displays all 2-step stair assemblies.

Do note that some, such as Brophy # AS02 and # SS02, are NOT meant for permanent installation. These steps use a bracket that holds the step when you are at your destination but they cannot remain on the RV while you travel. Other steps can install permanently, such as the Flexco # SMFP-2120.

Keep in mind that you will want to select a step whose retracted dimensions does not reduce your ground clearance.
