It is possible to flat-tow your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee depending on it specifications. If it is a two-wheel drive version, it cannot be towed four-wheels down, and the same holds true if it is a four-wheel drive model with Quadra-Trac 1 (or no "4-Lo" range).

Should you be able to flat-tow your Jeep, the first thing you will need is the appropriate base plate kit. The Blue Ox, # BX1128, is a confirmed fit for your Grand Cherokee and is virtually unnoticeable after install. You will need an accompanying tow bar, and I recommend the Blue Ox Aladdin, # BX7380. These bars fit into two-inch hitches, have a weight capacity of 7,500 lbs and can connect to base plates while on uneven ground with its swivel feature. For your wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, # RM-15247, which will illuminate your Grand Cherokee's tail lights, brake lights and turn signals while you are driving the tow vehicle. The lights will help ensure your safety, as will a supplemental braking system (both required by law in most of the U.S. and Canada as well). The option I recommend for you is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO, # SM99251. This is a proportional system which activates your Jeep's brakes with the same intensity as your tow vehicle's.

You will also need a stop light switch kit such as # RM-751449 to work in accordance with your braking system; it will ensure the system is always working properly.

The last thing that is likely going to be necessary is the use of a high-low adapter. This will provide you with the necessary rise or drop in height of your tow bar. I have attached a link to a help article on this subject that you may find useful.
