Sh code when connected to the trailer when I unplug it from the trailer I have 2 red dots that stay on

The SH code you are getting on the brake controller display is normally caused by a short on the trailer. The 2 dots indicate there is no trailer connected and will remain on when the vehicle is activated.
You will want to troubleshoot this by first inspecting the trailer and vehicle side connectors. Look for corrosion or damage and repair or clean as needed. Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the connectors and wiring.
