Replacement Leaf Spring for 7,000 Pound Lippert Axle
Published 05/19/2017 >
Question:
Have trailer with 7,000 pound Lippert axles. Having seen/heard a couple of reports of broken springs and not wanting to get stuck for a couple of days waiting for a spring. Want to purchase a spare spring. Is this a direct replacement e64SR

The Universal Group 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e64SR referenced in your question is designed for 7,000 pound axles like what you have on your trailer. Most likely this will work great as a replacement, however I cannot be sure that it is a direct replacement for your current leaf springs.
In order to ensure you get the correct leaf spring, you will need to take some measurements. You will want to measure the distance on your springs from the center of the spring hole to the center of the other spring hole. It is best to measure them with the weight off the spring, either by removing the spring or simply jacking up one side of the trailer. I have included a picture that shows where exactly these dimensions are taken.
Also keep in mind that when replacing leaf springs, it is recommended to always replace them in pairs in order to ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance.
I have also attached an article on double-eye leaf springs that you might find helpful.
