Does Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Circuit Tester # 8010 Work with Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes

Question:
Does the Tekonsha 8010 tester also test electric over hydraulic disc brakes too?

Expert Reply:
Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Circuit Tester # 8010 is looking for the draw of electric brake magnets. Since electric over hydraulic systems don't have magnets it would have to sense the draw from the actuator. Depending on the actuator it may or may not show a fault on the brake circuit.
The only true way to test an EOH actuator that is having issues is to troubleshoot it by itself according to the troubleshooting steps for that particular actuator. If you can tell me which actuator(s) you have I can determine the best way to test them.
