Recommended Vent With 12V Fan For Ford Transit Van

Question:

Iam interested in a roof vent for a Ford transit van, particularly the MaxFan model, MAOO-064OK. Concerned about the interior overhead clearance as I only have about 6 ft. and cant afford to lose the head space. Can you tell me how low it extends below the ceiling , or if another model would work better in this limited space ? Also the metal roof is only about 1/4 inch thick, any issues there ? Thanks

The MaxxAir MaxxFan Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - w/ Rain Cover - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" - Smoke # MA00-06200K will not work with your 1/4 inch thick roof without building the roof up on the inside or outside. It requires you to build up the roof if it is less than 1-1/8 inches thick.

For your application, I recommend the Ventline Ventadome Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Powered Lift - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" - White # V2119-601-00. This will take about 1-5/16 inches of your interior space for the fan and screen. To install this, you will need the number 8 screws for your roof thickness as well as Sealant # 0160297.

If you need the wall switch with this unit, I recommend the Ventline Ventadome Roof Vent w/12V Fan and Wall Switch - Powered Lift - 14-1/4" - White # V2119-1-533.
