Question:
Were interested in the Zip Breakaway Cable and Switch Part 80-01-2204. Does the Pin plug into the switch. Do I just pull the old plug out and put this in?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Fastway Zip Coiled Breakaway Cable # FA80-01-2204 has the pin that inserts into the switch.
When you pull the pin out of the breakaway system it will engage the brakes. Then after inserting the new pin they will disengage. Doing this with the trailer plugged into the truck can cause a back feed to the brake controller and possibly damaging it. So make the switch with the trailer disconnected from the truck.
When towing you'll connect the cable to your tow vehicle using the carabiner.
