Question:
I have a 2017 Subaru Forester I would like to have a hitch for my bike rack, what size hitch do I need? If I would want to tow a small pop up camper what would be recommended? Thanks

For your 2017 Subaru Forester, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75876 for your bike rack and for towing. A 2 inch receiver will allow you more options for bike racks and accessories than a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver opening. This hitch has an A-coat base and an powder coat finish for excellent rust protection.
To tow a small pop-up camper, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467 to easily connect to your factory wiring located in your rear cargo area, either behind the driver's-side trim panel or in the spare tire compartment. Once you have plugged in the connector, then insert the provided fuse into the in-line fuse holder.
Finally, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. This ball mount is extremely versitle with its adjustability to tow trailers level. It also comes with a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch hitch ball and has a nice stowable feature when not in use. I recommend using the Blue Ox Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches - Flush - 2-3/4" Span - Chrome # BX8858 to secure your investment.
