How to Test Trailer Breakaway Switch for Proper Function

Question:
exactly how would you know if the breakaway switch needs to be replaced I have one on a fifth wheel camper that is several years old but I do not have any problems with it that I can tell.

If you are concerned about the performance of your older trailer breakaway kit you can test it by following the process outlined in the linked article. If you find it does not work properly you can replace it completely or just replace select parts.
