Question:
I want to tow my 800lb motorcycle on the back of my travel trailer using a design that raises the front wheel of the cycle off the ground . It calls for a 2inch receiver hitch. Will the Curt RV 2inch receiver handle this type of load

Expert Reply:
The Curt # E-100 RV Bumper 2 inch Hitch is designed to fit a 4 inch square channel bumper. This type of hitch was mainly designed to be used with a towing accessory like bike rack or a cargo carrier because of the light towing capacity of RV bumpers.
The Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch for RVs, # 13703, is a better option for a hitch on the back of a RV. This Curt hitch will mount to a trailer frame that is between 22 to 72 inches wide and will attached to box, C-channel or I-beam style trailer frames.
Before you decide on towing your motorcycle behind your trailer, please check the law in the states you plan to travel. Many states have laws that forbid the towing of anything behind a towed trailer.
I have attached a link to a video that shows the Curt Adjustable Hitch being installed on a travel trailer for you to review.
