Question:
Looking to buy the C12221 hitch and the s64650 bike rack for my 2009 Toyota Matrix. Do I need anything else for these two to work? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
The Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C12221, and the Swagman XC, part # S64650, will work well on your 2009 Toyota Matrix.
The only other thing that you will want to keep in mind is that per the Curt warranty you will need to use a Support Strap # 18050 for any non-trailer loads like a bike rack or cargo carrier, otherwise the warranty is void.
If you would like to add some security to your setup, I recommend using the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable # S64031 which will help to deter theft of your Swagman XC and your bike(s).
I have included an installation video of the Curt # C12221 being installed on a 2003 Pontiac Vibe for you to use as a reference.
