Lippert Steps Making Bump Sound During Operation on a 2013-14 Encounter Coachman

Question:
Replace the whole steps , or what parts?? They go down and up but before stoping they make a loud bump bump bump???? While still moving??? Not safe 2013-14 Encounter Coachman: Lippert steps

If you have Lippert electrical steps, like the Kwikee Platinum Series Double Electric Step # LC372558, then you are most likely hearing the result of some part being bent.
What I recommend doing is getting to were you can see under the steps while someone else operates them. As the steps move try to locate the place that the bump sound is coming from. If it is something that you can detect then let me know and I can try to locate the replacement part for you. Otherwise it might be easier to just replace the steps if you cannot pinpoint where the problem is located.
