Question:
I am looking for a mirror extension for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. We have recently purchased a new RV Trailer, but could use the extra mirror width to see the sides. I see there is a clamp on type and a slip on type. The slip-on looks better. Can you advise the advantages and disadvantages of each along with model numbers? The existing mirrors have a light at the bottom and are chrome colored, with a swivel in feature to protect from side swiping.

There are not an slip on mirrors that are confirmed to fit your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. There are some really nice universal clip on options for you to consider.
My favorite is the K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors - Clip On - Pair # KS3990 because I like the dual mirror and the ratcheting straps with quick release. CIPA has a similar model with a different type of strap in their Dual-View Clip-On Towing Mirror # 11953.
If you like the single mirror, I recommend the K-Source Universal Towing Mirror - Clip On # KS3891 or the CIPA Clip-On Towing Mirror # 7070.
