Can I Use a Cargo Carrier With the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver on my 2015 Ram 1500

I know the curt will work on my ram but can I safely put a cargo carrier and 100 lbs of generator on it? I know I can not block airflow etc. Just the weight and bouncing concern. Originally just planned on bike rack and two bikes on the hitch.

The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 31374, which is a confirmed fit for your 2015 Ram 1500 as long as it is a 4x4, has a Vertical Load Rating of 500 lbs. As long as that weight capacity is not exceeded then this front mount hitch will be a great solution for you to carry a generator on the front of your Ram.

If you are wanting to use a cargo carrier to haul a variety of cargo, then I recommend going with the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18153. This will fit in the 2 inch receiver of your hitch, has a 500 lb capacity, and can fold up when not in use for storage or for more room at the front of your Ram. You can use the CargoBuckle Cam Tie-Down Straps # IMF12637 to help secure any cargo that you might be hauling. This will work just fine to hold your generator.

If you will be strictly carrying a generator then I have another solution that might put your mind at ease when it comes to securing your generator. TorkLift has their Lock and Load SideKick # TLA7901 which is a cargo tray that is 21-1/4 x 16-1/8 inches. It has a 200 lb weight capacity and was made with hauling generators in mind. If the SideKick is too small, TorkLift also has the Lock and Load Maximum Security # TLA7752 which measures 27-3/4 x 24 inches and has a 500 lb weight capacity.

I have attached links to some demonstration videos for you to review as well.
