Troubleshooting 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 With No Power Getting From Brake Controller To Connector

Question:

2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 no brakes on my trailer everything else works fine When someone steps on the break under the hood the blue wire connector has almost 5 V when we connected and someone steps on the brakes in the rear of the trailer connector no voltage the blue wire does not have any voltage from under the hood back to the end of the truck thank you

It sounds like you have a problem with either your brake controller or the wire between your controller and the trailer connector. I recommend cutting the brake output wire about 6 inches behind the controller to test voltage there when brake contoller power is adjusted up and hitting the manual override on the controller. If you have proper 12V there, then use # 10-1-1 to run new wire to your trailer connector. If you don't have voltage at the controller, you will need to replace the unit.
