Can I reliably and safely use it to connect half an inch aluminum tubing OD diameter ,end to end using about 2-3 inches long and clamp it? Thanks

Yes. The Derale High-Temperature Replacement Hose for Engine Applications - 10' Long # D15700 can be used safely and reliably to connect 1/2 inch outer diameter aluminum tubing using clamps like # H03-0001. You will want to be carefull when clamping to make sure the clamp is not twisted when compressing as aluminum tubing is a soft metal and could crimp and possibly leak if not applied correctly.
