Recommended Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for Casita Spirit Deluxe RV

Question:

I have a 17foot Casita Spirit Deluxe and would like to install a receiver hitch on the back to use for bike rack or carrier. It must mount to the frame, not bumper mounted. Do you have a product that fits?

We do have a few frame mount receiver hitches that are designed for the back of an RV like your Casita Spirit Deluxe.

I recommend looking at the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch for RVs # 13703. This can be either welded or bolted onto frame widths between 22 inches and 72 inches. The 2 inch receiver opening will provide a 350 pound tongue weight capacity and will be perfect for hitch-mounted accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier. For a bike rack that is rated for use with an RV, I recommend the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack # S44FR. This is a platform-style carrier that can hold up to 2 bikes at 45 pounds each. The sliding wheel cradles can accommodate bikes of different lengths using the built-in hand knobs. The rack also includes an anti-rattle hitch lock and cable lock to secure both the carrier to the trailer hitch and the bikes to the rack.
