Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 1993 Honda Civic 3 Door Hatchback
Question:
Does this hitch fit hatchback 3dr 1993 civic? Or only sedan and coupe?

Expert Reply:
We do offer a trailer hitch for your 1993 Honda Civic 3 door hatchback, but the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24677, will only fit 2 door coupe and 4 door models. Instead, you can use Curt Trailer Hitch, # 11209. I have included a link to the installation instructions for reference.
If you plan to do some towing with this hitch, the recommended ball mount, pin and clip are all included with the hitch. For a ball, you can use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, you would need Upgraded Circuit Protected Taillight Converter Hardwire Kit, # 119178KIT. I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation of this wiring harness.
For all non-trailer loads such as bike racks or cargo carriers, the Curt warranty requires the use of a stabilization strap like # 18050, or a similar strap. The hook would attach in the space between the roof and rear hatch and the other end would attach to the rack or carrier. This provides additional support for your hitch mounted accessories.
