Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2015 Toyota Highlander that Doesn't Stick Out Past Rear Bumper

Question:
About how far from the edge of the bumper does the receiver extend? Some say it is a shin hazard. I only need a hitch occasionally and may just need to review a truck to save my skin.....

If you are concerned about shin safety (which I don't blame you), the hitch you want for your 2015 Toyota Highlander is the Curt # C13200. Unlike the Draw Tite hitch for you vehicle it does not stick out past the rear bumper so you won't be smashing your shin into it. Check out the picture I attached that shows it in relation to the bumper.
