Question:

Hi ! Karrite box Searching spare parts for my old rooftop ski box and found your place. Need a pair of latches which i believe bear number 03347 from other post. I also need to replace the two gas struts which hold the cover open. but saw that they have been replaced by another mechanism like the sportrack explorer. Am I right ?

You are correct, the Karrite Explorer and Sportrack Explorer are the same cargo box. We do offer a few individual replacement parts for this product like the Replacement Latch # 03347 referenced in your question.

I recommend the SportRack Replacement Hardware Kit # SR05587 as this includes everything needed to mount the cargo box to your roof, including the struts you are needing to hold the cover open. I have attached an image of the assembly so you can see exactly what is included in order to ensure it will have the parts you need.

Unfortunately the latches for your Karrite box are no longer made. For a replacement lock core the part # SR03807 should work well.

Absolutely. There should be a number stamped onto the lock core - if you can tell me this number I will be happy to recommend the right replacement keys.
