Where Are The Fuses Installed When Installing Brake Controller On A 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE

Question:

On the video for the 08 GMC your guy states to use a 40 amp fuse for the 12 volt lead and a 30 amp for the brake control lead under the hood. I was looking at the decal on the fuse box cover and cannot fiqure out were they need to go...could you tell me which spaces need said fuses?

On your 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE, when installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885, you will need to activate the brake controller power post under the hood with a 30-amp fuse in the correct slot in the power distribution box. Also, to activate the 12-volt power lead post under the hood you will need a 40-amp fuse in the correct slot in the power distribution box.

Most vehicles are already equipped with the fuses for the brake controller power post and 12-volt power lead. However, if your vehicle does not have one or both fuses, you will need to insert your own fuses.

The fuse locations will be right next to the power posts at the front of the power distribution box. I am including a video link to a Prodigy P2 brake controller being installed on a 2009 Chevy Silverado. At the 5:05 time stamp on the video it will show exactly where the fuses are located.
