Question:
I just purchased a 2002 Jeep TJ and it already has a 2inch receiver on it but no wiring harness. I have a 7 pole rv plug on my current trailer. I was looking at your 3 options for t connection snapping into rear taillights but they only come with a 4 flat plug. Is there a connection into taillights that has a 7 pole plug? If not, can you give me advise on what I will need to purchase- ie : harness, adapter, mounting bracket. Thanks

Since you have no wiring on yoru 2002 TJ we can get you everything you need.
First you will need to install a 4-way wirinig harness. I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118409. This simply installs to the connection points located under the rear bumper on both the driver and passenger side.
If your trailer has brakes then you will also need a brake controller so that the braking action in your Jeep activates the brakes on the trailer. The brake controller I recommend is the P2, part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is easy to install and operate.
If you are going to use a brake controller the 7-way I recommend is part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way connector and you then run additional wires to give you a working 4-way and 7-way at the back of your TJ. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run for a brake controller and also for the # ETBC7.
If you are not going to use a brake controller you can just install a 7-way like part # 37185. This will attach to the 4-way and you can run the rest of the wires as shown in the attached drawing. If you are not installing a brake controller you can cap the blue wire.
The mounting brackets are included with the # ETBC7 and # 37185.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
