Recommended Hitch Mounted Tandem Bike Rack For T900 Trek Bike

Question:
Hello! Seriously considering this tandem bike rack for our t900 Trek. The bike weighs 44 lbs. Is the hitch adapter sleeve metal or plastic? If it is not metal, can a metal replacement be purchased? We want to use it on both our Chevy 2500 pickup 2 and our Toyota Rav 1.25. Thanks!

For your Trek T900 tandem bike, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2-Bike Rack - 1-1/4", 2" Hitch - Platform Style - Frame Mount # HR200Z. I confirmed that the adapter sleeve is aluminum, so you don't need another option. This rack will be compatible with you 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 as well as your Toyota Rav4 with the 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver. This bike rack has an integrated cable lock and a locking anti-rattle hitch bolt so your bike and rack will be secure on either vehicle.

Good morning, The Hollywood Racks HR200Z looks like it will work well for my Trek T900 Tandem Bike. But, the standard wheelbase is not long enough. It seems that the product can be configured for a wheelbase of up to 72". Does this require a different model or additional part, or can I order the standard HR200Z model and simply set it up differently? BTW, I have a 2009 4-Door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon w/ a 3.5" lift and 2" Hitch. Any guidance you can provide is much appreciated. Thanks
