what direction does it allow water to flow? in the direction of male or female end?

The Valterra Removable Plastic Anti-Siphon Valve # A01-0141VP will allow water flow from the female black end toward the male grey end. The black portion has a directional arrow molded into it to indicate the direction of water flow.
