Question:

This adapter is not recommended for use with Reese Elite Series gooseneck trailer hitches. Why is this and what as adapter would work with the Elite Series?

The Reese Elite Series Gooseneck Hitches, like part # RP30158-52, have a plastic lever on the top of the hitch ball which is used to install and remove the ball. When using the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 with the Reese Elite this plastic lever will be damaged becuase there are bolts inside the adapter that will make contact with the hitch ball.

An adapter that will work with the Reese Elite is the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3139. This will provide you with 8 inches of offset.
