How To Remove the Spring Bars from the L-Brackets on the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System
Updated 06/05/2020 | Published 01/09/2017 >
Question:
I saw and understand how you use the tool to pry the weight distribution bar up onto the L shaped support clamped to the trailer tongue. Question is how do you remove the bar back off of the L shaped bracket? There is quite a bit of force on the bar and it seams like it could slide off with quite a bang and be dangerous? How do you release this force to remove the bars when un-hitching?

Helpful Expert Reply:
When trying to remove the spring bars on the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System, # FA94-00-0800, you should use your trailer jack to relieve the tension on the weight distribution system. By raising the trailer tongue, you are taking some of the tongue weight of the hitch. With the tongue weight lowered, the tension on the bars will be lowered and then you will be able to use the included tool to remove the spring bars from the L-brackets.
