Question:

Will the Thule/Yakima Fairing fit the Volvo V50 OEM wing crossbars? If not, is there a fairing to fit the V50 crossbars? Thanks!!!

There is a way to get a fairing on your Volvo V50, but the Thule Roof Rack Fairing, part # TH72WV, is designed to fit either Thule Square Load Bars or Thule Aero Load Bars. Likewise, the Yakima Fairings will only fit Yakima load bars.

Typically, the front cross bar on a factory system is far back enough that a fairing is not needed. Often times the Thule or Yakima roof racks will put the front bar close enough to the windshield that a fairing is needed or recommended.

Depending on what roof rack accessory you are using, some will actually come with a fairing built for that accessory, like the Yakima and Thule roof baskets, part # Y07070 and # TH859XT.
