Does the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class I - 1-1/4inch Curt Trailer Hitch Code: C11435 fit on the 2016 MX-5 Club with Brembo/BBS package? It has an appearance kit with a rear bumper skirt, reducing clearance slightly. Thanks!

According to Curt's fit guide their 1-1/4-Inch Class I Hitch # C11435 fits all versions of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. No fit exclusions are noted for the 2016 Club version with Brembo brakes, although the 2015 model year, according to my technical contact at Curt, did have some fit issues with certain trim packages. Your 2016 is a confirmed fit. The written installation instructions are linked for your reference along with a helpful article on hitch installation.

Installing this no-drill hitch will require removal of fascia support brackets, which will be replaced with Curt-supplied brackets, and temporary lowering of the exhaust for access to the mounting points on the frame. Frame access holes may need to be enlarged using a rotary tool or by filing.

When used with a non-trailer load like a bike rack or cargo carrier Curt requires you to use their stabilizing strap # 18050 to help support the hitch. This is required to maintain your Curt warranty.

In this Class I hitch you are limited to using compatible Class I accessory items.
