Is There Trimming Required to Install Curt Hitch on 2016 BWW X6
Question:
RE: 2015 BMW X6 Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III - 2. I watched the video, which was for the X5 and it showed the installation of a similar unit. Im wondering about the cutting of bumper. It looked like on the video only the bottom side of the bumper gets cut and you cant see it when the unit is installed. 3 questions: 1 is this the same on x6, so cutting is required and you cant see that when the unit is installed? 2 if yes to #1, and the unit is removed, can you see the cuts from the back of the car? 3 How flush is the intake with the back of the bumper? In the video, it looks quite flush, so its not protruding too much if any from the back of the bumper, just underneath. Is this the case with this unit on the 2015 X6?

On your 2015 BMW X6 you would need to do the same amount of trimming that you see in the install video for the Curt hitch part # 13077 that you referenced. Some would say the trimming is noticeable from the rear of the vehicle but you really would have to look very closely and sit pretty low to see it.
The hitch would sit somewhat recessed behind the bumper. It would not protrude past it at all.
