Edge Performance Tuner Settings in 2004.5 Dodge Ram with Cummins 5.9L Diesel

Published 11/18/2016

Question:

I recently bought a 2004.5 dodge cummins 5.9. The truck had an Edge CTS2 programmer stolen from the truck before I bought it. He said the last setting it was on before they stole it was economy mode. Is it okay to leave it on economy mode or should I get it flashed over back to stock? I pull a two horse trailer every once in a while and mostly drive back and forth from work 15 miles on the highway everyday. Also does economy mode add horsepower to the truck?

The Edge performance tuner that was stolen from your truck has the vehicle's original engine tune stored in its memory. To return the unit to the stock tune you would either need to have the computer flashed by a dealership or locate and re-install the tuner to re-load the OEM settings stored in it.

Given your truck's sizeable output power I think you should still be okay doing occasional towing and your daily commute with the truck engine set in the economy mode. This tune does not add any additional horsepower or torque.
