Trailer Hitch Pin Lock Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Silverado with 2-1/2 inch Hitch
Published 10/26/2016 >
Question:
I keep reading how normal hitch pins that have a 3.25inch span for a 2.5inch HD receiver arent long enough for 2011 and newer GM receivers. I recently purchased a 2016 Silverado 2500 HD with full trailering integrated controller, etc. and the outside receiver width only measures 3. Im not understanding why an extended pin span is necessary. Its my first time dealing with this size receiver, am I missing something? Thanks!

For your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 the hitch pin lock part # e98881 is a great choice. It has a usable span of 3-5/8 inches which would be more than enough since it looks like the hitch tube in the picture you submitted is less than 3 inches wide.
