What do the Brown and Blue Nissan Towing Package Relays Power
Updated 10/24/2016 | Published 10/22/2016 >
Question:
I have a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder with a factory tow package that has the 4 pin flat plug already I stalled and a 7 pole adapter with the vehicle. I checked the relay box under the hood and there are only 2 relay plugs in the box. The center one, which has a blue relay in it, and the brown one, which is empty, to the drivers side. Do I only need the brown relay or will it require all 3 to make the tow package and controller work?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The brown relay that you are missing powers the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way. If that is not a circuit you plan to use it would not be necessary to install it. The blue relays control the turn signals which it sounds like you may have already.
