Question:
I have a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder with the tow package from the factory and I need to add the capability to tow a trailer w/ electric brakes. I believe part# C56226 is what will work. Is there one or more brake controllers available for this application and can you recommend one that is a direct plug in unit?

Expert Reply:
For your 2008 Pathfinder I recommend the T-One Wiring Harness with a 7-way trailer connector, part # 118266. This harness plugs into the existing wiring on your Pathfinder and that measns no cutting or splicing into the wiring. This gives you a 7-way at the rear of your vehicle. I also recommend the Pollak mounting bracket, part # PK12711U. The # C56226 harness will also work with your vehicle but we have had very good reviews from customers when using the T-One harness.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
The brake controller I recommend the P3 Brake Controller, part # 90195. This is one of our most popular brake controllers because it is easy to install and operate.
For your Pathfinder with the factory tow package you can use a plug-in harness part # 3050-P. One end plugs into the back of the controller and the other end plugs into the brake controller port located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
