Question:

What is the best trunk mounted bike rack for a 2008 Infiniti G35x? I Do not have spoiler. Ive read a bit about Thule TH910XT and the more expensive OutWay, but they both seem to have issues with getting it attached under trunk. I saw the nice video about fitting it on the Jeep Cherokee starting on the side first and working it down. Any feedback on the Infiniti sedan?

Since you asked what the best bike rack is for your Infiniti I recommend the Thule OutWay, part # TH45JV hands down.

This bike rack is one of the nicest bike racks we offer for a couple reasons. The biggest reason is that it uses only 2 braided steel cables with padded hooks to secure the bike rack to the vehicle. Most trunk mount bike carriers use 6 nylon straps. The video you mentioned shows how the hooks on the cables can be installed on vehicles that have a tighter seam for the trunk or hatch. Please take a look at the video for this latest version. Installation can't get any easier than this one. It has so many great features.

The patented FitDial system ensures a great fit on your car every time. This bike rack also features a cable lock to secure the bikes to the rack and locking covers for the straps to secure it to your trunk and deter theft.

The Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier, part # TH910XT is also a nice bike carrier that features 6-nylon straps to secure the carrier to the vehicle. This carrier also uses the FitDial system to make sure you get a secure fit.

If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance.
