What is the Actual Rise of Curt Class I Ball Mount # C45028

Updated 08/12/2016 | Published 08/11/2016

Question:

Hi, Could you please confirm the rise of C45028? Everywhere else it is shown as 4-5/8 incl. Curt website vs eTrailers 5-3/8. Actually, I need about 7inch rise on a class 1 hitch with 1-7/8inch ball... trying to pull the Red Trailer with my 2013 Corolla... - cant find a working combination. This mount provides the highest rise for a class 1 mount but the hole is only 3/4inch which does not work with Curts 2inch rise ball 40032. Any suggestions?

Curt measures rise differently and everyone else just goes by the specs Curt provides. All of our rise and drop measurements are taken the same way (unless otherwise noted). Curt estimates rise and drop. We measure from the top of the receiver opening to provide the exact. So from the top of the receiver opening to the top of the ball platform it is 5-3/8 inches when ball mount # C45028 is in the rise position and 6 inches in the drop position.

Like you said that is the highest available for a Class I hitch and the balls that fit are all standard height so the trailer will be a little off level, 1-5/8 inches, which is not ideal but also not terrible.
