What is the 1-1/4 inch Hitch Ball Mount with the Highest Rise

Published 01/15/2015

Question:

Is there any way to accomplish a 7 inch rise out of a 1 1/4th inch receiver, currently i have not been able to find one. No ball mounts come in 7 inch rise, and all balls that have a rise have to large of a shank. Thanks

The highest rise ball mount we carry that is designed to fit a 1-1/4 inch hitch is the Brophy Class II Draw Bar part # BM96, this ball mount has a 5-1/2 inch rise.

The only other option you would have would be to find a way to lower your trailer so that you wouldn't need a ball mount with as much rise.

If your current axles are below your leaf springs you can move them to being above the springs to accomplish this.

The diameter of your trailer axle will determine the size of the parts that you will need to order. If your axle is 3 inches diameter, the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, # K71-385-00, would be a great choice and if your axle is 2-3/8 inch diameter you could use the Over-Under Kit, # K71-384-00. These kits can be installed without welding but the manufacturer strongly recommends having the new spring seat tacked in place on the other side of the trailer axle.
