Question:

I am installing a c15300 hitch on my 1989 ford f 250. I have to drill holes to install. What type of bit should I use.

To install the Curt Class V XD Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15300 on your 1989 Ford F-250 you will need two sizes of drill bit, both 1/2-inch and 9/16-inch. The two rearmost holes to be drilled should be 9/16-inch while the remaining 4 holes forward of those should be for the 1/2-inch hardware. You'll want to be certain that you have bits suitable for drilling into steel. And it is often easier to start a smaller hole, say 1/8-inch, then 1/4-inch, and then enlarge it to final size. Your local hardware store should be able to supply high-speed bits for this application.

The hitch includes all the required mounting hardware. You can see installation on a 1997 F-250 by clicking on the linked video.

You'll also need a torque wrench like # ALL944001 as well as the other items listed in the linked instructions.
