Question:
I have a trailer axle that is 2 inches square. Can I replace it with the round 1-3/4 if it is still rated at 2000 lbs?

Yes, you can replace a square axle with a round beam axle so long as it is rated appropriately. You will need a new u-bolt kit for the round 2K axle, part # APUBR-10.
We offer beam axles rated up to 3500-lbs and also axle-less suspension kits from Timbren that bolt right on to the trailer frame. You can see all 2K axle kits by clicking on the link provided. Some of these come with hubs while others do not.
For instance Timbren kit # A20RS545 includes the bolt-on suspension units (they can be welded if you prefer) along with spindles and idler hubs with the popular 5-on-4-1/2 bolt pattern. Bearings, seals, etc. are included.
For a 60-inch beam axle with 4-on-4 idler hubs we offer Dexter kit # 20440I-ST-60.
Dexter Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern - 60" Long - 2,000 lbs
Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System with Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 - Regular Tires - 2,000 lbs
U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 2,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles - 4-1/4" Long U-Bolts
Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs - EZ-Lube - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 89" Long - 3,500 lbs
