Question:
I was informed that after market receivers required the rear bumper to be cut to accommodate the hitch. Is this accurate for this model? Your video only shows installation on a 2013. Thank you in advance!

Good news! According to the directions of the Draw-Tite Class III 2 inch trailer hitch # 75152, you will not be required to trim or modify any part of your 2014 Volvo XC90's bumper.
To clarify for you, many aftermarket receivers do require some trimming of the fascia or vehicle's bumper if need be, but it typically is few and far between on SUV's. We often see a precut panel that can be removed for the hitch to show through. It all depends on the vehicle manufacture and the best support the trailer hitch manufacture can provide.
Some other things you will need to tow a trailer will be wiring harness # 118411, a ball mount, and ball. I recommend the # 989900 kit, this will include a 2 common ball mounts, pin and clip, and 2 common sized balls. The size ball you will need is dependent on the coupler size and height of the trailer. I have linked a Help Article on how to determine what suits your needs.
I have linked the above mentioned products to this page for your convenience.
