Question:
I have a 10 foot Aluma aluminum trailer for hauling a Polaris Ranger 900 EPS with a weight of 1400 lbs. Whats the recommended way to mount the Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit # EM09160 to an aluminum bed ? Do I need a backing plate ?

If you can bolt the chocks of the Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit # EM09160 to some main support beams under the floor of your aluminum trailer then you would not have to use a backing plate. But if you need to attach them to the floor where there are no supports then you would need to use a backing plate, # e96RR. The backing plate will disperse the force applied to the chocks over a wider area.
The chocks are painted which will help with galvanic corrosion (because of the dissimilar metals) but the backing plate is not painted. It is zinc plated though.
