The Thule # TH83JV T2 Pro XTR 2 bike rack does come partially assembled. Once the rack is unpackaged, you'll simply put together a few sub assemblies to complete the rack.
If at some time in the future you decide you want to carry 2 additional bikes, a 2 bike expansion accessory is available as part # TH9036XT.
