Question:
Have a 350 CID 4 bolt engine in a 34 Ford. Casting # shows it is a crate engine so not sure of year. Been told there is 2 adaptors for the 350. One prior to 2001 and one after. Want to buy and install cooler but not sure what to order. Looking at the D15502 but not sure if the adaptor will fit. Thanks for any info.

If your filter is the larger style GM filter you will need to use the Derale Tube-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Sandwich Adapter (Multiple Threads) - Class III, item # D15505, which includes the adapter for the larger filter. If you are not sure which filter you have the # D15505 will work on the engine without the use of the adapter.
If you have the smaller filter on your vehicle you can use the Derale Tube-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Sandwich Adapter (Multiple Threads) - Class III, item # D15502, which is the same kit with the exception of the filter landing adapter.
Since you do not know the year of the 350 Crate motors build, you will need to determine whether the oil filter landing on the engine is the larger GM filter landing used on early model 350 engines or if it is the smaller filter landing.
All of the information I have shows that the engine thread sizes for the 1963 to 2008 5.7 liter or 350 c.i. GM engine is 13/16-16 threads.
