Published 05/24/2016 >
Question:
Hi, I purchased the 5535 and the Universal Install Kit, everything is wired, but I cant find the correct brake wire under the dash and I have probed many of them. Can you please help me identify the correct wire? Thanks

I contacted Draw-Tite and they let me know you cannot splice into a brake wire under the dash when installing a universal wiring kit. For a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, the brake light switch does not switch 12 volts, so you have to connect to Fuse 27 in the fuse panel.
This means you will have to route your wire to the engine and use Fuse Circuit Tap Kit # F2526 to tap into the fuse and connect the wire. This will then connect your brake controller to your brake pedal and will allow your brake controller to work properly.
