Question:

I see nothing about the size of the dust cover/cap for this khr12d hub. will the 2441 bearing buddy work? Also, will the dust driver tool 290-992 work with the 2441 bearing caps.

The correct bearing buddy for the Hub part # KHR12D that you referenced would be based on the 15123 outer bearing that the hub uses. Based on that you would want the Bearing Buddy part # BB2441.

Installing the Bearing Buddy is pretty easy and would not work with the tool you mentioned. I have included a link to a video and if you fast forward to about the 5:20 minute mark, our installer puts one on. He lines it up first and gives it a tap to get started. Then he places a block of wood over the end of the Bearing Buddy. The block of wood disperses the force of the hammer used to tap it into place.
