Using E-Track Backing Plate to Mount E-Track on the Floor of a cargo Van

Question:

I need to install track on the floor of a cargo van but dont understand how to install the backing plate. I saw your video with the detailed measurements of the plate but no information about how to install it. Do I use it as a giant washer or do I fasten it to the underside of the van before installing the track? If the latter, how is it meant to be fastened to the van?

Basically, the backing plate for the E-track, # e96RR, is like a giant washer. You will likely need several of them since it is 6-1/2 inches long by 6 inches wide. The fasteners you use will go through the E-Track, through the floor of the van, through the backing plate, and you would put the nuts for the fasteners on at the bottoms of the backing plates. So you are basically sandwiching the van floor between the E-track and the backing plate.
