Question:
When I plug this adapter into my 50 Amp power cord will both legs of my 50 Amp power cord be hot?

The design of the Power Grip RV Power Cord Adapter # CAM55185 is such that that the exposed male side wouldn't be carrying any current. The side that would be "hot" would be the female side if plugged in. This is intentional so as to prevent electrocution or fire.
Basically the male side of this adapter plugs into an outlet which carries voltage and then the other side of the adapter (the female side) plugs into the RV to supply power without the risk of shorting the adapter out.
