Question:

When the bike rack is fully ed into the Draw-Tite receiver on my 2016 Subaru Outback the knob to release the swing arm hits the bumper. The Draw-Tite has two holes. If I it when the pin engages the first hole there is enough room but I dont think that is safe. Do you have any fixes for this? I was going to buy the Curt hitch but it required a saftey strap according to your site and so you recommended the Draw-Tite which is what I ordered from you. Now I wished I went with the Curt. Help!

When comparing the Curt trailer Hitch, part # C13206 and the Draw-Tite part # 75673, the clearance from the hitch pin hole to the back of the rear bumper has a difference of 3 inches. The # 75673 distance is 5-1/2 inches and the # C13206 is 2-1/2 inches. That can really matter when selecting any accessories for your Outback.

When customers are looking for an accessory to fit in their trailer hitch we try to recommend items that have enough clearance for this reason.

I do have an option that could work for you. I recommend using a hitch extender like part # HE06. This extender adds an additional 7-3/8 inches for your hitch pin hole. When using any adapter like part # HE06 your hitch capacity is reduced by 50 percent.
