Is the 3 Inch Diameter the Inner or Outer Diameter for MagnaFlow Y-Pipe # MF10798

Question:
I have an 07 Chevy Express. Because of the way the muffler system is constructed,i want to eliminate the stock muffler, cut the pipes to fit the Y pipe , then add a magnaflo muffler, then in turn hook back into the tailpipe. So, my question is are the dimensions for the Y pipe inside diameter outside diameter? Thank you for your time to this matter.

The 3 inch inlet/outlet diameter on the MagnaFlow Y-Pipe # MF10798 is the outer diameter. Since this is a custom installation I recommend having a muffler shop perform the installation unless you have experience with exhaust systems.
